Umbane Trisfiel was born to a long-lived half-elf family in the wilds of the northeast. He was the second son of two small farmers, and the family was happy to have two more boys to farm the land and take care of the animals.
Umbane was a bright, happy child, always leaping into mischief and chasing the chickens around the farm. He was always quick to defend his friends, and he quickly learned how to use his fists to resolve disputes.
As he grew older, Umbane decided that he wanted to become a soldier like his father and uncle before him. He trained hard and became a skilled fighter, and quickly rose through the ranks of the military.
But one day, while Umbane was on guard duty at the city gates, a band of orcs stormed the gates and began to slaughter the unarmed civilians. Umbane was powerless to stop them, and he watched as his father and uncle were torn apart in front of him. In a moment of pure rage, Umbane attacked the orcs with reckless abandon, butchering them as he went. He managed to survive the battle, but he was psychologically scarred by what he had done.
Eventually, he found himself stationed in one of the furthest corners of the empire, serving under a brutal captain. One day, Umbane led a daring rebellion against his captain, routing his forces and freeing many slaves in the process. As a result, he was promoted to captain and made the ruler of a small village.
Umbane continued to lead his people with strength and cunning, building the village into a thriving metropolis.
Umbane's best friend is a half-elf named Shedim. The two have been through a lot together, and Shedim remains one of Umbane's most trusted allies.
