In a corner of the world brimming with unspoiled nature and ancient mysteries, there resides a happy man named Volker Nicol. His face wears an almost permanent smile, as warm and welcoming as if you've known him for a lifetime. His olive complexion, tanned and lined with delicate creases, speaks of countless hours under the sun, exploring, discovering. A veil of light stubble graces his face, giving him a rugged charm that complements the glint in his piercing eyes, eyes that have seen wonders beyond mere mortals.

Volker springs from humble beginnings. Born second in a family of four, his childhood home could be better described as a small museum of curiosities from around the globe, testimonials of his parents' shared passion for travel. It was in this environment that Volker's heart began resonating with the wanderer's tune.

As a young teenager, he befriended a neighboring boy named Fritz. Their bond grew strong over shared adventures, testing the limits of their small town and dreaming of the vast world beyond. Fritz was integral in shaping Volker into the open-minded, compassionate individual he is today.

Today, Volker works as a renowned travel documentarian, following in his parents' journey-seeking footsteps. His gift for weaving together compelling narratives, capturing the vibrant essence of diverse cultures, and showcasing the heart-stopping beauty of nature has earned him a respected place in the industry. This passion became his purpose, a calling that he considers his greatest achievement.

His lifelong companion, Fritz, joins him on his expeditions, his once childhood friend now the trusted cinematographer of his adventures. Together, they unearth the paradises hidden to the world, each exploration further fueling their insatiable hunger for discovery.

Yet despite his seeming fearlessness, Volker confesses a haunting fear: outliving his adventuring days. This fear, while terrifying, serves to invigorate him, pushing him to seize every opportunity and experience as much of the world as he can.

As an individual so closely tied to nature, Volker respects the spiritual belief of the interconnectedness of all creatures. This creed is evident in his lifestyle as he practices sustainable living, mindful consumption, and active contribution to conservation efforts.

When asked about his life philosophy, Volker often quotes a line from his favorite book, "I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul". These words, borrowed from William Ernest Henley's “Invictus”, form the backbone of his unyielding spirit.

And like every seasoned traveler, Volker cherishes a dream: to discover and document the legendary city of Atlantis. He may not claim to be an adherent of magic, but he possesses a peculiar artifact - an ornate compass said to belong to an ancient explorer that legend claims can guide one to the lost city.

In all his travels, there's an anecdote he enjoys recounting, one that, in his words, "marks the day his life veered onto its destined path." As a teenager, he and Fritz snuck off to a nearby cave rumored to be haunted; instead of ghosts, they discovered a family of bats. He realized then that the world was filled with untold stories waiting to be uncovered.
