Scarred, both physically and mentally, Nikias does not talk about these lost years often, save for the rare evenings spent in the company of his only friend, a half elf named Eliathanis. They share an unlikely bond, an almost brotherly affection born from the ashes of shared misfortune. It’s only during such moments of honesty and vulnerability that Nikias reverts to a harmless boy who spent his early days surrounded by silk, velvet, and stories of his adventurous ancestor, the famed pirate captain, Enok 'Redbeard' Barr.
A single amulet, faded and worn with time, remains from Nikias’ past life. It holds more than just sentimental value. Inscribed on it is the Barr family credo - "Stand Tall, Stand True". The irony is not lost on him, yet he clings to it, a beacon of who he was and who he could have been.
