Alana Delamaro was born in the coastal city of Caspel during the Feast of the Long Tide, when magic ran strongest in her bloodline. As a young girl, she could make the winds dance and flutter her hair with a thought. But she hid this talent in childhood, as magic was deeply mistrusted in those superstitious days.

Only when she came of age did Alana find a mentor - the eccentric wind witch Anora who lived in a hut on the cliffs. Recognizing Alana's potential, Anora took the orphaned girl under her wing. She taught Alana the lore of the four winds and rituals to focus her inborn gifts.

By her mid-20s, Alana had surpassed her mentor in raw power over the air currents. As Anora aged, Alana assumed the role of village witch and midwife. The locals came to appreciate her benevolent protective magics, unlike the capricious storms conjured by Anora in her youth.

When Caspel was attacked by corsairs, Alana helped defend it using powerful wind blades that shattered their ships. Afterwards she was recruited by the king's fledgling Marlen Mage Academy to help train new generations.

Now 67 winters old, Alana's hair have faded to a moonlight gray. But her wrinkled face still smiles often, reflecting her whimsical spirit. She enjoys teaching protective spells to local children and herbal lore to midwives.

Though never married, Alana took many lovers over the years who were drawn by her vibrant passion for life. She harbors no regrets, fulfilling her desire to help others and freely express her gifts. Alana looks forward to the quiet peace that death will bring, as she joins the eternal dance of the winds once more.
