Weeks plod along and Ava’s days follow their usual rhythm until a black cloud sweeps the sky, chill wind scattering leaves and snuffing out candles. King Atolis, the tyrant ruler of Atholia, kidnaps Ava during her morning stroll near the radiant Azalea bloom.
As Ava awakens in a dimly lit chamber, her heart pounds with a mixture of fear and determination. She knows that King Atolis intends to use her as a pawn to blackmail her father, King Rotari, into surrendering the Emerald Cliffs.
