In a quaint castle nestled within the mystical world of Ethoras, there exists a curious creature named Boskier Milli. Once a simple miller, Boskier now finds himself an undead slave to the will of the dreaded necromancer Alvares. But it is not only his current servitude that makes Boskier an extraordinary creature; it is also his unquiet past.
Born into a loving, ordinary family, Boskier experienced the comfort and warmth of a close-knit community during his early life. His parents were both hard workers, running the village's only mill and teaching the young Boskier the art of milling. His days were filled with laughter, toil, and camaraderie as he wholeheartedly embraced his trade.
But not all tales are scripted for lasting happiness. One fateful evening, as Boskier puttered around the edges of the mill in the dim candlelight, a sudden flurry of wings tore through the shadows. In an instant, darkness claimed his world, and the once honorable miller met his unceremonious demise.
The night Boskier met his death turned out, in actuality, to be only the beginning of his tragic story. The nefarious necromancer Alvares happened upon the cold, lifeless Boskier and, with a predatory grin, whispered incantations to bind the unfortunate miller to the land of the living. Within moments, Boskier arose, but the gentle spirit of his former life was no more.
His newly transformed body betrayed him just as his master did. The features once recognizable as Boskier's twisted into the semblance of a monstrous being. His ears grew long and pointed, while his once pleasant eyes glowed a sinister yellow. His hands, calloused from years of honest labor, transmuted to sharp claws, an eerie threat to any who dared come too close. This new visage marked him as a fearsome being, straddling the incredibly fine line between life and death.
Bound to Alvares, Boskier now carries out dark tasks using his newfound abilities. His senses, heightened to supernatural levels, allow him to hear the softest whispers and see the faintest shadows. His once mortal frame brims with unequaled strength and monstrous power. Yet, being undead has its own set of challenges. His body no longer regenerates and heals like it used to, leaving him susceptible to the weariness of the decaying curse.Alvares, ever the consummate puppet master, taunts Boskier's loyalty with only the promise of release. Though Boskier's conscious mind resents this cruel master, secretly, the undead miller desires nothing more than freedom, both from Alvares and his own tormented existence. This inner turmoil turns him into something more than just a mindless monster.
Boskier's mannerisms, though greatly changed, provide subtle hints of the man he once was. Unconsciously, he hums melancholic tunes from his past, finding solace in his faint memories. There lies within him a spark of humanity, giving rise to a faint light amidst the pain and suffering.
His heart—perhaps the last fragment of his humanity—encapsulates the heavy burden of regrets. He regrets the unanswered questions about his own death, the love he left behind, and the unanswered questions about what his life could have been.
