In the bustling metropolis of Atlas, adorned with high-reaching towers of glass and metal, amongst the cacophony of daily life, there exists an elegant sanctuary of calm and peace, the House of the Lord. A place of respite to many, the house is a secret abode to some mundane yet extraordinary characters. Intricately woven within the tapestry of this sacred place is the life story of a bright, beautiful young woman, Marte Mildorf.

Marte Mildorf, the daughter of Atlas's influential family, the Mildorfs, since her earliest days, exudes an aura of strength and kindness. Raised amongst the opulence and comforts that wealth brings, Marte is not seduced by the lure of her gilt lifestyle. Instead, there lies within her an unwavering desire to be a beacon of hope, to serve humanity. It is this desire that leads her from the affluence of her family manor to the stone-laden pathway of Atlas Academy's prestigious medical school.

Educated and disciplined under the watchful eyes of the academy's learned tutors, Marte emerges with a repository of medical knowledge. Harnessing these acquired skills, she joins the cultist temple of the Sole God, the House of the Lord, as their cleric. Although the opulent corridors of the Mildorf mansion replaced with the solemn cold stone walls of the House, Marte finds satisfaction within her new environment.

With her hazel hair flowing gracefully under a golden tiara, a reminder of her nobility cooled by her humility, Marte is an epitome of beauty. Despite her youth, Marte takes charge of establishing a free hospital for the destitute within the House. Her heart beats not only for the prayers within the temple but also for the pained cries of the sick and the disadvantaged.

Though the House worships the Sole God, it veils a sinister secret within its high priestess ranks. Unbeknownst to Marte, she is woven into a web of manipulation spun by Bishop Marten. Revered by Marte, Marten and his daughters, high priests Loren and Bafna, cleverly maintain an air of piety and devotion. However, their intents are as far from holy as can be. Yet, their nefarious motives remain hidden from the charisma of Marte's faith.

Marte's unstinting faith, however, isn't blind. It is born from a creed of compassion and selfless service to humanity. This life mantra is a guiding force in her journey from her wealthy beginnings towards the path she's presently treading, making her one of Atlas's unsung heroes.

Possessing an unwavering loyalty towards her organization, she finds herself questioning not the intentions of her leaders. Her faith remains unbroken and her actions unaltered. She continues her noble pursuit, healing the sick, bringing hope to the hopeless, unaware of the lurking shadows of a mighty climax and unsettling doubts yet to unfold.

Bound by a commitment to her faith, nurtured by the alliance formed with the House, her fidelity remains unfaltered in the face of marriage. Despite clandestine offers of affections from suitors, Marte pursues her self-consecrated path of celibacy. As for pleasures of the palate, a humble bowl of vegetable stew holds a special place in her heart, symbolic of the simplicity she embraces in the midst of ostentation.
