Ufot Embershaper was born seventy-five years after the great dragon wars. His birthplace was a modest settlement nestled in the foothills of the Great Mountains. As the youngest son of a miner, Ufot was raised with a love for gemstones and precious metals. His father owned a modest mine and taught Ufot everything there is to know about mining, forging, and trading.

However, family secrets have always been tightly kept, and it wasn't until Ufot was forty that his father revealed the truth. His grandfather, before retiring from mining, looted a dwarven vault and used the riches to build the mine. The family's prosperity reflected the unrighteous act, and Ufot felt tainted by his family's legacy.

After his mother's death, Ufot's father became lost in his own sorrow, and as a result, Ufot turned to the sea. He joined a crew and sailed the vast ocean, discovering new lands and cultures. He made a childhood friend on board, Baldur the Blaggard, who taught him the ways of piracy. Ufot reveled in the thrill, but ultimately his moral compass overcame his lust for wealth and he left the crew on friendly terms.

With newfound knowledge of the work of the seas, Ufot settled in Eryndor, a city by the sea known for its bustling harbor. He became a merchant, using his skills and ships to trade the goods of the world. Ufot adopted a silky-coated mountain goat as his traveling companion, who he named Beryl.

Ufot's current occupation was not without its troubles, as betrayal was common in the cutthroat world of commerce. He once trusted a partner with his caravan's safety, only to find out on their return that his partner had stolen goods from several merchants in town. The resulting lack of trust in his partners was detrimental to his business for many years.

Ufot was never interested in marriage, preferring the freedom of the seas and his trading empire. He fears the darkness of the sea, as he's heard the tales of what lies below. He is particularly afraid of the Kraken that is said to roam the seas.

Ufot's favorite food is roasted lamb shank, cooked over an open flame. He believes in living in the moment and enjoying the fruits of his labor. He's not particularly religious, but he does believe there is a balance in everything.

In his lifetime, Ufot has had many adventures, but his greatest dream is to discover a gemstone or precious metal that no one knows about. His favorite weapon is the battle axe, which he wields with deadly precision despite his short stature.
