Onie was born to a ruling family in a kingdom Tubol on the continent of Terrinoth. As the daughter of a high-ranking officer, Onie was raised with the expectation of one day assuming the throne herself. When Onie turned eighteen, she was given her first assignment as queen consort. She was to accompany her future husband, the crown prince, on a diplomatic mission to the neighboring kingdom of Krondor. Although the trip was long and arduous, Onie soon found herself falling in love with her groom. The two were married shortly after their return home.

However, this happy marriage did not last long. The kingdom was attacked by an army of orcs. The young prince went to the battlefield with his father. They managed to repulse the attack of the orcs, but both warriors were mortally wounded. After the death of the king and prince, Onie became queen.
