Born into a family of caravaneers in the tribe of Mela'Shok, Xolag's life has been both ordinary and extraordinary. From a young age, he was taught the ways of the caravan and the art of trade. His father, Throak, leader of Mela'Shok, ensured that Xolag understood the importance of building relationships, maintaining trust, and bartering with the various creatures and races that inhabit Ethgar. Xolag's mother, Sorla, an adept alchemist in her own right, shared her extensive knowledge of rare ingredients and cultivated her son's curiosity for the unknown.
Distinct from the usual orcs' penchant for war, Xolag's understanding of diplomacy was remarkable. His yellow eyes sparkled with cunning, mirroring the potential that lay coiled within him like an emerald serpent, waiting to strike.
One of Xolag's defining traits, his vivid green complexion, set him apart from the common brown and grey-skinned orcs of Ethgar, presenting both a curse and a blessing on his journey. Although his uniqueness garnered intrigue, it also attracted countless instances of derision. But the sneers and jeers did nothing to deter the driven young Xolag, who believed that his uncommon hue was essential to what he was destined to become.
As Xolag stepped further into adulthood, he set off on his own, taking with him only a small pack of supplies and his mother's careful instructions on alchemy. While he wandered the diverse lands of Ethgar, he began to sharpen his extraordinary skills of negotiation and diplomacy. Establishing amiable relations with the various kingdoms and tribes, Xolag quickly rose to prominence as an exceptional merchant.
It wasn't long before his journeys led him to encounter the exceptional mystical creatures that roam the lands of Ethgar, forging alliances and trade agreements with the likes of the elusive Nymphs of the Whispering Forest, the resilient Gnomes of the Stone Valley, and even the formidable Dragons of the Skyfire Mountains. In addition, Xolag discovered unique and exotic items that would be highly sought after by the curious and wealthy of Ethgar.
And so it happened that on his travels, Xolag unearthed a rare and mystical gemstone hidden deep within a treacherous canyon. Intrigued by its enchanting essence, the merchant orc found that the gem harbored an extraordinary ability to manipulate time. Alarmed but excited by this revelation, Xolag realized that he held in his possession an object that could forever alter the landscapes and fates of Ethgar.
The time-altering gem presented Xolag with a choice: to wield its power for personal gain or to protect it from falling into the hands of those who might abuse it. In that decision, the honorable merchant in him prevailed, and Xolag resolved to protect the gem from nefarious forces, safeguarding it as he continued to build his ever-expanding and prosperous trade network.
